What is Permanent makeup/Micro-Pigmentation?

Permanent cosmetics, Semi Permanent make up, micropigmentation, dermal implantation, microblading/microstroking, eyebrow embroidery, and long-time/long-lasting makeup, are all different names for the same procedure – cosmetic tattooing.

Any time colour is placed into the skin with any device, it is a tattoo process as defined by many well informed regulators, the medical community, and dictionary sources.

Permanent make-up is the implant of cosmetic hypoallergenic pigments into the superficial layer of the skin (same procedure as tattooing) either to enhance natural features or for corrective work.

Intra dermal pigmentation is a revolutionary method of applying micro insertions of natural pigments into the dermal layer of the skin which will fade over a period of time. This state of the art technique is medically proven and specifically designed to be completely safe.

The Intra dermal pigmentation procedure for lip color is beautiful. It can appear to change the size and shape of the lips as well as the colour. This procedure helps prevent lipstick from bleeding into the surrounding skin. A soft pink, similar to your lip colour is popular for those wanting a natural look. A more dramatic color can be achieved if desired.

This method is applied using a motorised handpiece, implants coloured pigment into the upper reticular layer of the dermis, and can be performed on several areas of the body.

Why will my colour fade if they are permanent cosmetics?

All of the inks used in this procedure are designed for this treatment only and are not used for general tattooing. The inks are hypo-allergenic and the approved within governing bodies. A patch test will be provided. The effects will last for between one and three years but you may require a re-touch up annually or possibly sooner depending on skin type/ activity and hormonal changes. The colour fades but the particles are still present in the skin.

How many treatments will I need?

A full consultation is carried out before booking your appointment so that such issues can be discussed individually. You will more than likely need what is referred to as a retouch appointment following your initial treatment; this is usually within 8 weeks after your first visit.

Is the procedure painful?

Topical anaesthetic is applied to reduce any discomfort. You may experience a slight tingling or scratching sensation. Once the treatment is underway, more anaesthetic is applied and you should feel very little discomfort.

What will I expect after my procedure?

You may experience any of the following:

  • Slight swelling
  • Redness
  • Numbness for up to two hours
  • The colour will appear much darker for up to 5 days
  • Lines may appear thicker until the healing process has taken place.
What will happen after the First Five Days Healing Period?

You may experience loss of colour (pigment) for up to two weeks after the initial healing has taken place.

Why does this happen?

This is due to your skin cells healing over the area where the pigment has been placed. After around three to four weeks, the cells will settle and the colour returns.

When do I come back for my Follow-up Treatment?

You will need to wait at least 28 days after the initial procedure before any further treatment can be undertaken, this is so that I can see exactly what pigment is present and to ensure that your cells have completely healed and that no scarring is likely.

How long will my treatment take?

This is dependant on how well the anaesthetic works, I always ensure that you feel as little discomfort as possible, therefore, I usually allow up to two hours for your first treatment. This does not, however, mean that you are undergoing pigmentation the whole time.

Is the treatment painful?

The treatment feels warm but pleasant and it’s seldom uncomfortable.

When will I see results?

Immediate results can be seen for most clients. However further results will be gradual and subtle, more improvements will be increasingly visible over six months.

How does it work?

We use handpiece containing electrodes to deliver radio-frequency energy which heats up the lower levels and the middle levels Of the dermis of the skin which stimulates existing collagen and elastin production and overtime will create new collagen.

What areas can be treated?
  • Improving the jowl, eyes and neck area are the most popular.
  • Forehead- lift brows, tighter skin.
  • Under eyes- softens fine lines, reduces puffiness.
  • Mouth area-plumps and forms.
  • Neck-tightens and smooths lines.
How soon after pregnancy can a lipofirm be performed?

Treatments can be performed on the abdominal 1 to 3 months post pregnancy.

What are the effects of DMA in the muscle?

The muscle activation increases the muscle tone and lymphatic drainage system.

How long will the results last?

Results should last several months however, the ageing process cannot be stopped. Regular monthly treatments to maintain results is recommended.

I have metal pins in my knees, can I have a treatment on my arms?

You can have a treatment on an area which does not have metal pins or plates implants, however treatment should not be performed over metal implants. In cases of metal braces on teeth, it is fine to perform treatment, depending on clients discomfort or sensitivity; we can place cotton pads inside the mouth if required.

Why is glycerin used in tripolar treatments?

Glycerin was found to be the most suitable compound as it allows the radio-frequency to penetrate to the deeper layers, while preventing the epidermal layer becoming too hot or damaged.

Are sessions available for men?

All treatments are for both men and women; we do recommend not shaving on the area of the day of the treatment.

How high does skin temperature reach during tripolar?

The skin can relate to temperatures of 40to 42° at its highest, The skin temperature is monitored throughout the treatment.

How does the body dispose of the fat during tripolar treatment?

Tripolar heats up the fat in the superficial adipose layer; heating the fat cells increases metabolism, increasing fatty acids into the surrounding area. The heating also increases the blood circulation, accelerating metabolism which physically helps the blood and lymphatic system to dispose of fatty acids naturally.

Is the treatment painful?

The treatment is completely painless.

What happens during my treatment?

Your skin with be thoroughly cleansed before you experience the amazing exfoliation treatment. With an innovative capsule tablet attached to the GeneO device, your pores with be cleared and dead skin removed, allowing the skin to breathe more freely. Radio frequency is then used to stimulate natural collagen regeneration, improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and ‘saggy’ areas, creating younger looking skin.

What is OxyGeneo technology?

An innovative technology which gently exfoliates for dead skin removal, improving oxygen levels and infusion of nutrients, boosting and rejuvenating the complexion.

When will I see results?

A course of 6 weekly treatments will provide the best possible results but most clients see immediate visible results after the first treatment.

Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime with the GeneO treatments, your skin may appear a little red afterwards but this will ease fairly quickly. We recommend you apply a SPF30 or above for the next 24 hours and avoid any heat inducing activities, such as sunbed, bathing, exercising, sunbathing.

Are lash lifts painful or bad for your lashes?

Speaking from experience, lash lifts are actually a very soothing experience with minimal (to no) discomfort. If you’ve got sensitive eyes or you don’t like people coming close to them, there’s only one part that may have you cringeing

What happens if my eyelashes get wet?
Water or moisture should not come in to contact with your lashes for at least 24 hours after a lash lift because water will alter the disulphide bonds in the hair’s cortex once they have set via chemical change.
Don’t tamper with your lashes for at least 24 hours after your service!
We want you to enjoy your lift and for you to get the maximum benefit, so don’t get them wet or apply makeup, or lotion to your top lashes until 24 hours has passed. … If you can avoid it, try not sleeping on your lashes that night either.
